Success Stories

She became involved in Celebrate Recovery and a co-dependence support group through Gravity Church. She attended required Parenting Classes and initiated the process to complete her High School diploma through the Lodi Public Library. Shortly before the birth of her child, she was able to move into a housing life skills program for women and children. She is now married to the father of her children, and they have secured housing together. She is continuing to work towards full custody of her older sons and now has overnight visitation with them. She continues her work with Celebrate Recovery and CPS.

Audrey, who is 34 years old, came to ICA-LAC in October of 2022. Due to losing her housing, Audrey’s three young sons were removed from her custody by Child Protective Services (CPS). Shortly before this occurred, she learned she was pregnant. Upon entering the Access Center, Audrey devoted herself to regaining custody of her sons and building a secure future for all of them. Through the services at the Access Center, she participated in Life Coaching addressing the necessary steps for her sobriety, housing plan, health care, financial security, legal issues, and other barriers.

Jeff, who is 37 years old, had a 10 year alcohol and methamphetamine addiction. During this time, he developed significant mental health issues and was heavily medicated. The combination of medication and alcohol abuse was for him and his relationships.

He lost contact with his family and significant other. Jeff entered Inner City Action Men’s Discipleship Program in October 2022. After participating in the ICA program, he was able to start working for them, reconnected with his significant other and was present at the birth of their daughter. He now is working, co-parenting daily, and planning a future with his family.
